Dessie Evans Elementary School
Named for a past school teacher, the project is a new elementary school for the Puyallup School District. It is one of the largest elementary schools in the state, with capacity for over 1,000 students.
NEXUS performed an independent technical review of design documents, which included a review of the Owner’s Project requirements (OPRs) and Basis of Design (BOD).
During construction, NEXUS performed site observation visits verifying installation of various critical enclosure elements related to the thermal/vapor/air barrier of the building and witnessed/performed final air barrier testing on the completed building. All observations and testing, including infrared thermography during air leakage testing, was photo-documented in written reports submitted to the client and contractor to ensure deficiencies were understood and corrected. Running logs of deficiencies and corrections accompany each report.
